Police Catch Daytime Burglars Red-Handed

A 911 call from an alert neighbor in the 600 block of E. Wade at 2:23 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, led to the arrest of two female burglary suspects who were in the process of removing items from a home.

Michelle L. D'Amico-Bauman, 31, of Payson, and Jennifer A. Parquette, 29, of Pine, were both arrested on burglary and theft charges.

When police arrived, they found Parquette sitting in her vehicle in the driveway of the residence. The vehicle was later determined to contain numerous items from inside the house. Bauman was contacted and taken into custody as she was coming out the rear door of the house with an arm-load of items.

Officers also found a large trash can inside the back door that was packed with a variety of the homeowner's belongings.

Bauman and Parquette were booked into the Gila County jail on charges of burglary and theft. Bauman, also was charged with use of a dangerous drug after she admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine.

"We are grateful, as the victim is, that the neighbor not only kept an eye on his neighbor's house, but gave us good information as we were en route," Chief Gordon Gartner said. "We may never have caught them without the assistance."

Both suspects posted bond and were released from jail.
