After a lengthy search, Payson Little League has finally found three volunteers to man its board of directors.
Kevin Sokol has agreed to serve as league president and Chuck Barton and Tom Lawson will handle vice presidential duties.
"It's an all-new board," Lawson said.
The first order of business for the new board was to schedule dates for registration, try-outs, opening ceremonies and league play.
The first registration session is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Payson Police Department training room. Additional registrations will be at the same time, same place, Jan. 17, Jan. 22 and Jan. 25. The last chance to register will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Jan. 26.
Prospective players must take their birth certificates and a registration fee of $40. The fee for a second player in a family is $35 and $30 for others.
The new governing board has slated player evaluations for minor (9- to 11-year-olds) and major (9- to 12-year-olds) league players for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 23 at Rumsey I.
Try-outs for senior league athletes (13- to 15-year-olds) is from 9 a.m. to noon March 2 at Rumsey 2.
Youngsters (7 to 8-years-of-age) participating on the league's farm teams do not undergo player evaluations.
Little League opening ceremonies will be April 20 at Rumsey. The season begins for minor and major league teams April 22. The senior league gets swinging April 29.
The campaign wraps up June 15, when all-star games will be selected to represent the Rim country in post-season area and district tournaments.
