Through a cooperative arrangement between the Regional Payson Area Project (RPAP) and Gila County, the temporary residential brush dropoff location will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays at Buckhead Mesa Landfill.
Officials plan to keep this location open every Sunday until sufficient rains fall to allow the re-opening of RPAP's other brush drop-off locations.
This drop-off location is for residential-cleared brush only. No household trash, construction debris or commercial haulers will be accepted.
The landfill is closed on Sundays, and it is being opened specifically for local residents who are clearing brush from their property to lessen the hazard of wildfire under the goals and guidelines of the RPAP program.
There is no charge for individuals dropping off brush or other vegetative matter under the RPAP program.
