The Board of Directors of the Pine-Strawberry Archeological & Historical Society regrets to announce that they have made a decision to cancel or postpone all of the events that they have scheduled for July and August.
The extreme drought continues to threaten forests, homes and businesses with the real possibility of a devastating fire. In addition, our domestic water supply is extremely low. When the monsoon rains arrive, they will be gratefully appreciated.
All events scheduled at the Strawberry Schoolhouse during July are canceled. The school will remain open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and visit the school.
The Pine-Strawberry Museum/Visitor Center will remain open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
The Antique Show and Silent Auction scheduled for July 27 and 28 will be postponed until Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12 and 13. The Appraisal Clinic scheduled for July 27 and 28 is canceled and will be re-scheduled sometime next year.
The Heritage Day Celebration and Barbecue scheduled for Aug. 24 is postponed until Saturday, Oct. 12.
Representatives from the historical society board will be meeting with other Pine-Strawberry community organizations in the next few weeks to make plans for a big event on Oct. 12 and 13. Details of the planned event will be announced to the public as soon as they are available.
We apologize for the inconvenience that these cancellations and postponements will cause our visitors and guests. We will continue to work with your neighbors and community partners to bring safe and comfortable opportunities for you to visit and enjoy our communities.
