Red Cross Attitude An Affront

Editor:

I am writing regarding the volunteer services Payson citizens have performed for the evacuees and the removal of the volunteers by the Red Cross when the Red Cross assumed command of the operation at the Rim Country Middle School.

When I returned to work Friday I was advised by a Red Cross official that my volunteer services were not needed thus brushing me aside. I was told that they (the Red Cross) were providing all the services. To me, this attitude toward the hard working, well meaning Payson volunteers was an affront.

Did anyone else receive the same treatment?
