Naaman Midyett

Naaman "Paul" Midyett, a 12-year resident of Tonto Basin and former mayor of Sierra Vista, died July 24, 2002. He was born March 3, 1936 in Paducah, Ky.

Mr. Midyett was a master technician with more than 45 years experience in the commercial and residential field of refrigeration and appliances. He owned several appliance stores in Sierra Vista and Tucson.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughter, Annette Midyett Brunner and husband, Dean, of Prescott Valley; son, Naaman P. Midyett II and wife, Lynne, of Marysville, Wash.; stepdaughter, Lyrae Anne Williams of Tucson; stepsons, Thomas L. Williams and wife, Karen, of Casa Grande, and Robert L. Williams of Phoenix; sisters, Virginia "Ginger" Moore and husband, Bruce, of Roosevelt, and Maybelle Cates and husband, Ed, of Tucson; brothers, James Midyett and wife, Edna, of Sierra Vista, Robert Midyett and wife, Sharon, of Show Low, and Kenneth Midyett of Tucson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ermie Mae "Miller" Midyett and father, Robert H. Midyett, and six siblings.

Services were held Saturday, July 27 in Tucson.
