Jackson, Pros Slate Tennis Day

Local tennis teach pro Diane Jackson will hook up with two professionals representing Head/Penn Racquet Sports to host free court play and instruction. The session is from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., July 20, on the Rumsey Parks Courts.

According to Jackson, the class "will be an opportunity to play with professionals representing the (Head/Penn) line of tennis."

During the class, local buffs will receive tips in all phases of the game including serving, backhand, forehand, lobs, smashes, grips, scoring and court etiquette. Those who participate, Jackson said, will get a better understanding of the game and what techniques it takes to be successful on the court.

Since the class will be limited to 24 participants and more than a dozen have already registered, Jackson is urging anyone interested to sign-up as soon possible. To do so, call Jackson at 474-0583.

In addition to co-hosting the day with the professionals, Jackson is the owner of the Payson Tennis School and a representative for the Head/Penn line of tennis products. She also teaches summer tennis lessons for the Town of Payson Parks and Recreation Department.
