Brush Pit Open To Area Residents

Through a cooperative arrangement between the Regional Payson Area Project (RPAP) and Gila County, a new temporary residential brush dropoff location will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday (June 23) at Buckhead Mesa Landfill until sufficient rains fall to allow the re-opening of RPAP's other brush dropoff locations.

This dropoff location is for residential cleared brush only. No household trash, construction debris or commercial haulers will be accepted.

The landfill is closed on Sundays, and it is being opened specifically for local citizens who are clearing brush from their property to lessen the hazard of wildfire under the goals and guidelines of the RPAP program.
