Carter "Bud" Lee Williams, 77, of Payson, died June 22, 2002. He was born July 19, 1924, in Fort Smith, Ark.

Mr. Williams served in World War II and the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He moved to Payson in 1974 where he was the first building inspector for the Town of Payson. Five years later, he opened Bud's Plumbing and Electrical Supply. He was an active member of First Southern Baptist church for 27 years, serving as a deacon part of that time.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Williams of Payson; daughters, Claudia McAuliffe of Nashua, N.H., and Patricia Williams of Chino Valley; grandson, James of Chino Valley.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 27 at First Southern Baptist Church, 302 S. Ash Street in Payson.

Interment at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park.
