Wyer To Show Fused Glass At Pal Show


The Payson Art League's Spring 2002 Show and Sale makes its return appearance this weekend, and among the local artists to be showcased will be Pia K. Wyer, M.A..

Wyer has worked with diverse media and will offer pieces in photography and fused glass. Her current collection includes framed prints, deluxe greeting cards, fused glass plates, bowls and wall sculptures. She is showing at the Eagle's Nest Gallery in Payson, Frontier Furnishings in Pine, and Raku Gallery in Jerome.

In the past Wyer has been represented by Mind's Eye Gallery and Work of Artists in Scottsdale; Stetter Artworks; Mars Artspace; Eclectic Visions Gallery in Phoenix; and Potter's Vision in Payson. She also sells her work directly, by appointment.

A Payson resident for seven years, originally from England, Wyer has also lived in France and traveled to other parts of Europe and the United States. She completed undergraduate work in Studio Art with a Photography major in England, and studied French language, art, literature and international business in France. Most recently, in May 2001, she graduated with a Master of Arts in Culture and Spirituality from Holy Names College in Oakland, Calif.

The Payson Art League's Spring 2002 Show and Sale begins today (Friday) with an Artist's Reception at the Tonto Apache Activity Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday show hours are 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
