May 7, on our way from Carefree to our home in Wisconsin, we stopped in Payson to visit our son, Dr. Charles Beier, and his family.
Early on Thursday morning, May 9, I suffered a gall bladder attack. My son took me to the emergency room at the Payson Regional Medical Center. By noon that day, I no longer had my gall bladder and was comfortable. We resumed our trip a few days later.
Having been a patient in three large medical center hospitals over the years for various surgeries, I was very impressed with the Payson Regional Medical Center. The care I received from staff of the ER, the anesthetist, the surgeon (Dr. Munoz), the physician's assistant (Diane Scott), all the nurses, and everyone else, was outstanding. I was also very impressed with the cleanliness and orderliness of the entire facility.
The residents of the Rim country, their families, and their visitors are extremely fortunate to have a first class medical facility so nearby.
