Katie Ford of Payson will star as Clara in the Mesa production of The Nutcracker next month.
The daughter of Kristi and Troy Ford, the 15-year-old has danced since she was four. She now teaches at Dancing on the Rim. One of her lifelong dreams has been to dance the role of Clara in the classic Christmas ballet, according to her mother, Kristi Ford.
The Mesa production of The Nutcracker is by Campbell’s Ballet Expressions of Campbell’s Dance Studio of Mesa. It will be a full production of the entire story. Now in its 13th year, Campbell’s presentation of The Nutcracker is known as one of the top productions of the ballet.
The production is at Mountain View High School, 2700 E. Brown Road, Mesa, at the corner of Brown and Lindsay. Performances are at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Dec. 7 and 14. Tickets are $8 for children; $9 for students and senior citizens; and $10 for adults.
Special group rates are available for a batch of 25 or more tickets purchased at the same time and a $1 discount will be offered in exchange for a donation of non-perishable food.
