David Clayton French Sr., 76, of Payson, died Nov. 9, 2002 in Scottsdale. He was born Nov. 25, 1925 in Hebron, N.H.
Mr. French joined the Navy when he was 17 years old. He moved to Arizona from Massachusetts and was assistant manager of the Paradise Valley Country Club.
He later managed many other clubs and after he retired, became the manager of the Oaks Restaurant in Payson.
Survivors include daughters, Katherine Ann French of Chandler, Karen Jean French Koble of Scottsdale and Karolyn Patricia Gilmore of Chandler; sons, James Edward French of Payson and Stephen John French of Glendale; sisters, Jean Koski of Maine and Alice Dutton of Rye; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Kelly French, and son, David Clayton French Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive in Payson.
