People who don’t want their personal life made public, or to be subject to judgment should not seek public office.
It would appear that Ken Murphy’s “shortcomings” (his term) caused him public embarrassment long before seeking to be our mayor. He is working on those shortcomings as per some of the testimonies at our last council meeting. That is all well and good, but how much better to keep a lower profile until he has that temper in check.
By accepting the position of mayor, he should be able to lead by example. As a member of this great town, I feel that we have the right to judge any behavior that reflects on our town. And, those who put their trust in Ken should have the right to expect him to keep his personal problems private and not embarrass us all.
