A Wednesday morning collision on Highway 87, south of the Tonto Natural Bridge turn, was free of injuries, according to Officer Tony McDaniel of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

McDaniel said injuries were limited to bumps and abrasions, but the people involved said they would provide their own transportation for care.

He said Donna Hudson, 43, Payson, was northbound on Highway 87 when inattentiveness caused her to drift across the center line into the southbound lane. Overcorrecting to the right, she lost control of her vehicle and again crossed the center line and had a left-front to left-front collision with Linda O’Dell, 54, Pine, who was in the southbound lane.

The accident closed the Beeline for 10 to 15 minutes, McDaniel said. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, with transportation provided to the drivers by family or friends.

McDaniel said Hudson was cited for speeding.
