Since there is no more personal gift than one made by hand, the Pine-Strawberry Art and Craft Guild’s annual holiday season show and sale which wraps up Sunday afternoon may well provide one of the most personal shopping experiences to be found anywhere in the Rim country.

According to the guild’s publicist, Pat Brewer, artists and crafters from all over this neck of the pine forest will display just about every type of one-of-a-kind treasure one could imagine from afghans and quilts to sculptures, framed art and home decor items.

Many of the showcased works are the creation of such locally-renowned artisans as Lorraine Horton, whose oil paintings delight the attendant crowds year after year.

Brewer also suggests that, if you have already cruised the available merchandise, plan a return trip.

“We receive new inventory every week,” Brewer said. “Those who come back will always find all sorts of new things that weren’t there before.”

And that’s not all. While you’re crossing names off your Christmas list, you’ll also be helping out a great cultural cause. “This is the guild’s big fund-raiser for the year, and it would be really nice to see it end with a bang,” Brewer said of the weeks-long event.

The Pine-Strawberry Art and Craft Guild at the Pine Community Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through this Sunday, Dec. 1. For more information, call Pat Brewer at (928) 474-9710.
