Thanksgiving is over and it’s time to move on to the next holiday.
What do you say we clean up Christopher Creek?
This Saturday, Nov. 30, starting at 8 a.m., and not before, members of the Christopher Creek Homeowners Association will have another opportunity to clean up the community and maybe work off some of that turkey and stuffing.
There will be two dumpsters located in Skip Ashby’s meadow, off Columbine Road.
This is just for Christopher Creek residents.
Only bagged leaves and needles will be accepted. There is a charge of 30 cents per bag to defray the cost for the dumpsters. Payment can be cash or checks, made payable to the CCHA.
As we move on to the next holiday, here are some things going on in the community.
Want to get in the Christmas spirit and find the true meaning of the holiday? Bring your friends, relatives and neighbors to the Annual Christmas Potluck at Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship. It is Friday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. There will be lots of good food and fellowship, lots of Christmas songs, just a wonderful way to start the holidays. Remember Jesus is the reason for the season.
Saturday, Dec. 7 there will be a big party at the Landmark to celebrate their first anniversary of ownership. There will be drink specials from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a complimentary buffet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will have a blues band coming up from the Valley called “Top Cats” and they say that they are great. Thanks, Sally for the information.
Santa at Christopher Creek
Saturday, Dec. 14, Santa comes to Christopher Creek. Kids and parents need to be at the fire hall at 1 p.m. for the expected arrival. Each child should bring two non-perishable food items. They will decorate and fill boxes for families that could use a little help. After all it is the season of giving. Who knows maybe Santa will be in the mood to give also. So, bring the kids and grandkids for a joyous day.
Here they go a-caroling!
The Christopher Creek Homeowners trailer will pick up all carolers and wannabes in front of the Landmark at 8 p.m. They will sing their way up to Creekside, hopefully make a joyous noise down Columbine and then encore up Apple Lane. The singing sleigh will return to the fire hall for hot chocolate and cookies. Leave your front light on if you want to hear them sing or run for the hills if you hear them coming and the sound is unbearable.
- Judges will be out to select the best decorated homes. They will be riding their reindeer, or elk around Christopher Creek between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to find the best three or four decorated homes.
Quad Squad light parade
Get ready for the Second Annual Quad Squad Christmas Lights Parade, Thursday, Dec. 19. Meet at the Landmark at 5 p.m. and bring a snack to share.
They had so much fun last year they decided to do it again.
Do you want to join them? The requirements are a quad or a golf cart decorated with Christmas lights.
The itinerary is: Ride begins at 6 p.m. at Landmark, goes to Apple Lane, then down Columbine, around the village, back up Columbine to Highway 260. It crosses the highway into Olive’s trailer park, goes past Creekside and up around See Canyon Homes and back for a stop at Creekside.
