Gear Up For Fall Festivities

CHRISTOPHER CREEK

Fall is my favorite time of the year, but this is a little too cold, too soon. The wind is what makes it unbearable. As you drive down Highway 260 through Christopher Creek, you can see the leaves changing, and, with all the wind, they are falling off the trees before they have changed their color.

Homeowners meeting

Don't forget the Hunter Creek Homeowners Association meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the fire hall.

It is October already and the November election is close by. One of the issues on the ballot is the Uniform Fire Code. This is a very important issue, and, as a property owner, it is of great importance. You should educate yourself on this important issue before the election. The last meeting on the subject will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the fire hall. Attend this meeting and learn the issues.

Also at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the fire hall is the Christopher Creek Homeowners meeting, where they will elect new officers.

That evening is the Annual Trick-or-Treat hayride for the little ones in Christopher Creek.

The fun begins at 4 p.m. at the Landmark with costume contest and light dinner. All kids pile on the Halloween cart at 5:30 p.m. for trick-or-treating. If you have someone for the ride or if you are passing out candy, call Sally Tharp at 478-3060 to register.

Best decorated houses in Christopher Creek will be judged between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Be sure to have your lights on.

The transfer station has gone to winter hours as of Oct. 1. They will be Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
