The Payson Town Council has a special meeting tonight on the possible purchase of the Garcia property and the Humane Society property. Also included in the discussion is financing the town shop facility and airport hangar projects.
The meeting includes discussion and possible action on a purchase agreement not to exceed $3 million in excise tax revenue obligations.
Glenn Smith, chief financial officer, said the purchase agreement is a guarantee the town is obligated to pay with whatever financial resources it has available. It is not going to raise taxes to make the purchase. The special meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Main Street is a topic to be tackled at the council's regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Both meetings are at the town hall council chambers, 303 N. Beeline Highway.
