The 4th Annual Women's Retreat was Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church in Christopher Creek.
The event was attended by 31 women. They heard from Teresa Purtee, who taught the lesson "Putting on the Character of Christ." You may ask yourself, what is character? Character is what you are when no one is looking.
Testimonies were given by Susan Hepworth, Theresa Branson, Dorothy Sagert and Michal Olsson.
All the women at the retreat brought their favorite salad to share. A matching number game shared by Pat Guevara had the women finding their matching numbers as they entered the chapel, thus enabling them to sit near a new friend.
The church was beautifully decorated by the talents of Bianca Malmin. Six lucky women, including this writer, took home the centerpieces when their names were drawn.
Special thanks to Vicki Althouse who came to the rescue and played the piano while the rest of the women sang some of their favorite hymns.
All in all, it was a very inspirational day for the 31 women who attended.
Thanks to everyone who put the retreat together, it was a wonderful blessing to everyone involved.
Don't forget, the Hunter Creek Ranch Homeowners Association has its meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the fire hall.
The Christopher Creek Homeowners association meets at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the fire hall.
Immediately after the Oct. 26 meeting, at 10 a.m., there will be an informal meeting on the Uniform Fire Code issue. This is a very important issue and is of great importance to all property owners. You owe it to yourself to know the issues before you vote.
Also on Oct. 26, fun for the little goblins and ghosts begins at 4 p.m. at the Landmark with a costume contest and a light dinner. All children will pile on the Halloween cart at 5:30 p.m. for a fun trick-or-treat ride through the community. The cart returns to the Landmark around 7 p.m., so the adults can go out and have fun.
This is a Christopher Creek Homeowners event, and is for children in the Christopher Creek area only.
If you want to give out treats to the little goblins, please call Sally Tharp at 478-0360 so they can plan the trip and know where to stop. Those planning to let their children participate also need to call, so they will know how many youngsters are coming on the ride.
The best decorated houses will be judged between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., so be sure to leave your lights and sounds on so we will be scared.
Longtime resident Pat Eggers recently passed away. Pat was very active in the community. She was one of the first Firebelles. She will be truly missed, and our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Bob and her family.
