Robert P. Caperton


Robert P. Caperton, 83, a longtime Payson resident, died Oct. 13, 2002 in Phoenix. He was born July 29, 1919, in Belton, Texas.

Mr. Caperton moved to Arizona 46 years ago from his native state. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a meat cutter with IGA grocery stores, retiring in 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; daughters, Cindy Sprenkle and Debra Buckland; son, Robert Caperton; sister, Mildred Ansley; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road in Scottsdale.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
