I am a 74-year-old widow. I have known Lewis Tenney for 24 years. I have always found him to be a compassionate, understanding person who reaches out to people with a strong shoulder of support.
In 1990 when my young son was dying, he came to the hospital at 2 in the morning and stayed with me until my family could get to me. He came home with me to tell my husband, who was suffering from Alzheimer's, of the passing of our son.
Four years later he again was there at the passing of my husband. He helped my family through these rough times in more ways than I have space to write.
Lewis Tenney has always served this community. It was his leadership that established our fire district so we could train medical support and recruit a doctor to the community. It was through his leadership and concern for our children, who were being bused 60 miles a day, that our high school was built.
I have never known him not to be serving in some capacity to help our community to be a better place.
To know that a man of his caliber would be representing me would make me so proud. It will be an honor to elect him as the congressman from District 1.
