An inmate escaped from the Gila County jail in Payson this weekend.
Tucson resident Lance Dean Neilson, 32, escaped from the jail the morning of Sept. 8.
The escape was made when Neilson and other prisoners were in the outdoor yard for exercise, according to a release from the Gila County Sheriff's Office.
The escape is still under investigation, but it is believed Neilson had no outside help, Det. George Ratliff of the GCSO said.
An attempt-to-locate bulletin was issued statewide at about 8:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 8.
Neilson was originally arrested Aug. 1 for possession of a stolen vehicle and credit cards. He was in custody on a bond of $2,500, according to the release.
At press time, all attempts to locate Neilson had been unsuccessful.
