A Kitty's Cry For Help

These newborns are just a few of the more than 100 homeless cats and kittens currently held at the Payson Humane Society's Animal Shelter. They will be eligible for adoption in about six weeks, however, the shelter has scores of other kittens, cats, puppies and dogs who need homes now.

If you cannot adopt a pet, the humane society can still use your help. "We're badly in need of kitten food, puppy chow and canned, wet food for cats," said assistant shelter manager Kim Myers.

The shelter is located at 812 S. McLane Rd. (just south of Main Street); hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
