Creek Gets Ready For A Fun-Filled Fall

Fall is the busiest time of the year for the Christopher Creek Homeowners Association.

Next month, they will be nominating new officers. So, pay your dues and nominate someone you think would be good for the community for the next two years and someone who is willing to continue the yearly functions.

Send in your nominees to one of the officers and watch for your ballot in early October.

Christopher Creek Homeowners Association events:

Oct. 26 Homeowners meeting at 9 a.m. at the fire hall. Please have any items you wish to have placed on the agenda to any of the officers by Oct. 15. Immediately after the meeting at 10 a.m., there will be an informational meeting on the Uniform Fire Code Issue. This is a very important issue and is of great importance to all property owners.

Oct. 26 Also that day, fun for the little goblins and witches begins at the Landmark at 4 p.m., with a costume contest and light dinner. All children will pile on the Halloween cart at 5:30 p.m. for the fun trick-or-treat ride through the community. The cart returns to the Landmark around 7 p.m., so the adults can go out and have fun.

If you want to give treats to the little goblins, please call one of the officers so they can plan the trip and stops. Also, call to let them know if you have children in Christopher Creek who are going on the ride, so there will be enough space.

This event is only for the Christopher Creek area. Best-decorated houses will be judged between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., so be sure to leave your lights on.

Nov. 11 The annual hanging of the Christmas lights along the highway. They need lots of hard workers. It seems everyone likes to look at the lights, but every year the group of residents who show up to hang them gets smaller and smaller. Come out and meet your neighbors and get involved. Fun starts at 9 a.m. at the fire hall, and there will be a potluck at noon to celebrate your hard work. Don't let this annual event be pushed aside.

Nov. 28 The lights will shine bright and stay on until Jan. 2, if everything goes to plan. Be sure to drive through and see just how beautiful the lights and displays look.

Nov. 30 Another clean-up day planned in Christopher Creek. This is an excellent opportunity to work off that stuffing you had on Thanksgiving. CCHA will sponsor the placement of two county dumpsters in the community to receive your bagged leaves and needles only. Starts at 8 a.m. There will be a charge of 30 cents a bag, cash or checks payable to CCHA.

If you are unable to get your bags to the dumpster, call an officer and they will try to arrange help for you. They will stop when the dumpsters are full.

The officers of the Christopher Creek Homeowners Association are: President Gary Anderson (478-4075), Vice-President Debbie Dawson (478-0788) and Secretary Sally Tharp (478-0360).

The Hunter Creek Ranch Homeowners Association has scheduled their homeowners meeting for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the fire hall.

Women's retreat

The 4th Annual Women's Retreat is scheduled at Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship for 1 day only, Wednesday, Oct. 2.

This year's theme will be the Character of Christ. It takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will have a salad luncheon, so bring your favorite salad to share and be ready for a wonderful day.

For more information, call Pat at 478-4122.
