INTERNET

The Rim Internet Services

The Rim Internet Services offers fast dial-in internet access for The Rim, the White Mountains, Phoenix and Tucson--featuring the new faster V.92 dial-in access with no busy signals and professional support. The Rim also offers internet e-mail accounts with virus and porn protection and spam filters. The Rim features community websites with information displayed for area attractions and resources.

The Rim Internet Service business philosophy is The Fast Will Beat the Slow. We offer fast servers, fast support, and fast connections and speeds.

Our target markets are the homes and small businesses who want personal, professional internet services -- fast.

During 2002, the Rim Internet Services upgraded all of our equipment to the new, faster V.92 modems. Most new client computer systems come with V.92 modems installed, though we found most internet providers are not going with this new faster speed. V.92 compatibility also offers the availability to receive phone calls while you're on line. During 2002, The Rim also opened up services in Tucson, Payson, and surrounding areas.

Unusual facts about our business include that we offer large enough service to supply all demands, and are small enough to offer very personal service. Our staff of six technicians and support personnel have averaged over four years of service. The staff built and runs all of our servers, and can address any problems with immediate access to servers and accounts.

The Rim Internet Services' main offices are located in Lakeside. Since 1996, we have opened up services in Show Low, Snowflake, Springerville, Heber, Phoenix, Tucson, and Payson. All of our dial-in accounts can access their services from any of our cities.

With the new faster speeds of V.92, dial-up services, and our reduced cost for internet access, we foresee steady, continued growth. Most of our clients use our services because they were referred to us from an existing client. We found the faster we grow, the more referrals we have received. We expect to continue our growth, by maintaining very personal services within our communities, as well as open new markets in the state within the next year.

White Mountains Online is located at 3100 W. Highway 260, Lakeside. Our business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can reach us toll free at 1-888-250-1694.

The folks at Century 21 Woodland have been helping Rim country residents find the American dream right here in central Arizona.

Whether you're looking for a summer home, or a permanent residence, owner/broker Tudy Martin and her crew of 21 agents can help you find your dream home.

In the past 12 months, the agents of Century 21 Woodland have been taking advantage of new technology that provides online training.

Martin said, over the years, she's witnessed the Rim country's growth provide for a better year-long economy, and that its four mild seasons are not controlling the business economy as it has in the past.

"Continued growth is inevitable," she said. "As Phoenix grows, so do we.

"We must prepare for the negative issues in our area (the water situation; devastation of the bark beetle infestation) and survive with making known our positive issues."

Rory Huff & Sue Maher

Rory Huff, agent for ERA Young Realty, lives by the Golden Rule: he treats every client as he would like to be treated, and strives to be fair to buyers and sellers alike.

Fellow agent Sue Maher has a similar philosophy. With more than 30 years of experience in the real estate business, Maher said her specialty is listening to what the clients' wants and needs are, and trying to find them what fits their needs and budget.

With the growth of the clients' access to properties on the Internet, Huff and Maher said they've both noticed buyers coming in better informed, more sure about the kind of house they're looking for.

ERA Young Realty is owned by Larry Jones, and Huff said that due to the size of the company, ERA has an agent to serve every need.

In 2002, ERA expanded its offices to Pine, Strawberry and Heber. In the future, Huff expects the company to get bigger and bigger.

"I see us growing and prospering," Maher said. "We must grow to survive, but keeping to our small-town feel."

Find out what ERA Young Realty can do for you by calling Huff or Maher at (928) 474-4554, or stop by the office at 424 S. Beeline Highway in Payson.

"We will focus on the younger people who want their money in one day or less during the first part of the season.
