Wilbur R. Wells, 86, died April 7, 2003 in Payson. He was born Jan. 14, 1917 in Brown County, Ohio.
Mr. Wells served in combat duty in World War II until he was injured and medically discharged. He joined the brotherhood of the Masonic Lodge in his early 20s and earned his 32nd degree.
He moved to Phoenix in 1958, and then to Tonto Basin in 1978.
He is survived by his son, Alan Wells of Chandler, Ariz.; daughters Kay Ness and Brenda Wells of Tonto Basin, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Geneva Wells; two sons, Gary and Rodney; daughter, Naomi; one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services by the Payson Masonic Lodge will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at the Tonto Basin Cemetery.
