Charles William Persely, 56, died at home in Arlington, Texas Wednesday, March 26, 2003. He was born Feb. 6, 1947 in Uniontown, Pa.
Mr. Persely was a construction superintendent, a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran who received numerous medals, including the Purple Heart, a member of the VFW of Arlington, Texas, an Episcopalian, and a member of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club of Fort Worth, Texas.
Before moving to Texas, he lived in Arizona for more than 20 years, building many businesses in Old Scottsdale and Happy Trails Resort in Phoenix. He loved to spend his free time tubing the rivers, riding his motorcycle and dreamed of retiring in Gisela.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Persely, of Arlington, Texas; daughter, Wendy (Patrick) Wright of Payson.; expected first grandchild, Charlieanne Lorene Wright in July 2003; brothers, Tom (Dawn) Persely of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Bob Persely of Charleston, W. Va.; sister, Marie Marcum of Charleston, W. Va.; niece, Bridget (Tim) Sullivan of Clearwater, Fla.; nephew, Tommy Persely of Grand Prairie, Texas; grandnephew, Jessie Sullivan of Clearwater, Fla.; step-daughter, Reva Gray of Dallas, Texas; step-grandchildren, Carey, Chase, Camry and Chaya Gray of Dallas, Texas; mother-in-law, Gladys Burns of Arlington, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Albert Persely and Anna Lorene Hibbard.
Graveside services were held March 31, 2003 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas.
