Rusty Cooper dreamed of becoming a teacher. After 20 years as an electrician, he went back to school to fulfill his dream. He hoped to teach in Payson.
Nov. 2, 1996, a few months prior to graduation, Rusty died of a heart attack at the young age of 44. He was awarded his diploma posthumously.
Last year's tournament was a tremendous success. They were able to award two $2,500 scholarships; one to Emily Scott and another to Elizabeth Raichert, both of Payson High School.
This year with your help they would like to once again benefit Payson High School seniors in the form of one or more scholarships in memory of Rusty Cooper.
