Lawrence Iverson, 85, of Payson died April 17, 2003. He was born April 3, 1918 in Woodstock, Ill.
Mr. Iverson was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the South Pacific. He served as a merchant seaman, and also was in the navy reserves.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 69, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothea of Payson; son, Thomas (Marilyn), also of Payson; sister, Mary Ann Iverson, Overland Park, Kan.; brother, Roy Iverson, Woodstock, Ill.; grandson, Andrew (Cherie) Iverson; granddaughter, Amy (Clint) Marks, Aurora, Colo.; niece, Carolyn Werner of Payson, and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Carl and Laurena Iverson.
There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 4 at Tom and Marilyn's home, 400 E. Forest Drive, Payson.
