Editor:

Our second annual Bowl For Kid's Sake held Sunday Aug. 10 was a fun-filled success, thanks to the many generous people who donated time and resources to support one-on-one youth mentoring in Payson.

The turnout was huge. Folks who haven't touched a bowling ball in years braved "morning after" stiff muscles to join in the fun and listen to DJ Craig crank out the prizes with every tune!

It was a great place to see what fun it can be to be a "Big," as many of our "matches" bowled in the event.

Special thanks to Rim Guidance Center for putting together five teams, to Amon Builders for fielding four teams, and ERA Young Realty and Wal-Mart for their three teams each!

We also appreciate every team captain who challenged their teams to compete for pledges.

Details of the event results can be found at www. inpayson.com "Winner's Circle" page online.

Check out our beautiful "Bowl For Kid's Sake" trophy at Rim Country Lanes.

The support of local businesses enabled us to give away prizes non-stop throughout the day. Please help us thank our business friends the next time you see them by using their goods and services.

It is gratifying to all of us to see that our success in this event was built on the individual and team efforts of so many caring residents, interested in making the lives of our youth better through a special and rewarding friendship.
