Nellie M. Huggins, 76, of Buena Vista, Colo, formerly of Payson, died Aug. 14, 2003, at Columbine Manor Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 13, 1927 in Walters, Okla. to Charles and Olive (Vineyard) Bryant.
Mrs. Huggins loved people, and working in the community. She did a lot of volunteer work for the Gila County Sheriff's Department, and also as a counselor at the local Planned Parenthood Organization in Payson. She loved to crochet, and made a lot of crafts for fund-raising at her local church. Mrs. Huggins loved her family, and was a pillar of strength, faith and encouragement. She was a loyal and faithful servant of God.
She is survived by her sons Kenneth (Sue) Huggins of Phoenix, and Eddie Huggins of Glendale, Ariz.; daughter, Linda (Ralph) Gosch of Buena Vista, Colo.; brothers, Charles and Wayne Bryant, both of Oklahoma; sisters, Billie Joyce Greene of Texas and Mildred Rowe of Oklahoma; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Huggins was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mayo C. Huggins.
Viewing was held Monday, Aug. 18 at Lundberg Mortuary Whiterose Chapel in Glendale, Ariz. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Resthaven Park-West Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, Ariz.
