Joe Jesik, 80, of Lafayette, Colo., died in Louisville, Colo. Aug. 18, 2003. He was born Nov. 7, 1922 in Brno, Czechoslovakia, to John and Stella (Novak) Jezik.
He graduated from high school in Pennsylvania in 1940, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1945. He owned a gas station in Michigan for about five years.
Mr. Jesik married the former Dorothy Gauthier June 7, 1952 in Detroit. He worked for General Motors in Michigan from 1957 until his retirement in 1987. He was a devoted husband, who doted on his wife and took care of his family.
The Jesiks lived in Payson from July 2000 to August 2003, when they moved to Lafayette, Colo.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Lafayette, Colo.; sons, Scott Jesik of Lafayette, Colo. and Derin Jesik of Star Valley; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Fran Anthony of Natrona Heights, Pa., Dorothy Giovanna of Sterling Heights, Mich. and Elaine Jezik of Natrona Heights, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ed Jesik, Lou Jesik and an infant brother; and his sister, Marge Minarek.
Services will be conducted in Payson at a later date.
