Lights are shining brightly from businesses both in Pine and Strawberry. It is looking very festive and should get us all in the Christmas spirit.
The Christmas Tree Auction and Community Christmas Party is Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Cultural Hall at the Pine Community Center. The party begins at 5 p.m. and the tree auction begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. These trees have been beautifully and cleverly decorated by the students in each class at the Pine school and each class hopes to have the highest bid on their tree. The students also are making tree ornaments which will be on display and for sale for $1 each. All proceeds from the auction and sale of ornaments go directly to the school and these funds are used in the classrooms for something very special and needed. The school choir will sing and everyone will be invited to join in for some caroling. The Christmas lights all around the Community Center will be lit welcoming a visit from Santa. Santa will visit with and have a treat for each child. Refreshments will be served and some great door prizes will be given away. This is an event for the communities of Pine and Strawberry.
The Christmas Angels Benefit Auction also is Dec. 6 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Located at the old south-side gas station in Pine, the silent auction runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and then the live auction begins. During all of this, there will be refreshments and great fun. This is one of the "must attend" social events of the season. All proceeds go directly to providing a Christmas for individuals and families in Pine and Strawberry who otherwise would not have one. Donations of art, home accessories, jewelry and exotic junk are welcome and needed. Call (928) 476-3433 for information.
