This Saturday, Dec. 13, beginning at 8 a.m., the Christopher Creek Homeowners Association is sponsoring another community wide cleanup. This will be the last one before spring.
There will be a dumpster parked on Columbine to receive bagged leaves and needles. There will be a 25 cent charge per bag to cover the cost of the dumpster.
If you need assistance in getting your bags to the dumpster, call Gary Anderson at (928) 478-4075 or Karen Thorton at (918) 478-4133 to make arrangements.
The November clean up collected more than 8,000 pounds of leaves and needles from more than 30 properties. They would like to beat that record and keep the community clean and safer. Many thanks to Chuck Schmitt and Clayton Ashby who were the taskmasters in getting their trucks and crews together.
Soup and Song Party
Don't forget Santa will be arriving by fire truck at 4 p.m., Saturday. The Soup and Song Party begins at 5 p.m. Don't forget to bring cookies. Everyone is invited to the Soup Supper in the community room. There will be three kinds of delicious homemade soup to sample, as well as a cup of hot chocolate to warm you up.
At 6 p.m., everyone is invited to climb aboard the Christopher Creek trailer to travel around the community singing in unison (hopefully) all of those old favorite Christmas Carols. Non-singers are encouraged to come along and hold flashlights and songbooks. If you would like to be serenaded, just leave your porch light on. Give Gary or Karen a call if you are interested in coming.
The Annual House Decorating Contest will be done during the caroling. Keep your lights on for the judges to see and many thanks to all of you who made it so festive this year.
The Christopher Creek trailer had a flat tire right before Halloween. Not a good way to haul trick-or-treaters.
Red Armistead to the rescue. "I'll pump it up," he said. The next day, it was flat again. Red to the rescue, yet again. The CCHA thanks you so very much Red Armistead, for helping them, and keeping them on the road. Now can they come by and serenade you with our Christmas Carols?
It seems there are some more angels to thank, four wonderful ladies from the Valley: Kathleen Wasson, Hazel Scott, Billye Johnson and Patty Smith. They collected and brought some wonderful Christmas gifts to share with the children. They had bag after bag of stuffed animals, books, dolls, etc. Thank you on behalf of the children of Christopher Creek.
Sunday, Dec. 21, is the Landmark's Annual Christmas Party. It begins at 4 p.m. and is a potluck. Bring your favorite covered dish and celebrate the holidays.
Monday, Dec. 22, is Creekside's Annual Christmas Party. It starts at 6 p.m. and is a potluck. Bring your favorite dish and come and celebrate with the locals here in Christopher Creek.
