Norman Ellsworth Hanscom, Jr., 66, of Strawberry, died in a vehicle fire in Pine Dec. 8, 2003. He was born Sept. 12, 1937 in Fall River, Mass. to Norman E. Hanscom, Sr. and Yvonne Dumas Hanscom.
Mr. Hanscom served honorably for six years in the U.S. Navy. He was in the Korean conflict, and served part of his time on an aircraft carrier. He was a member of American Legion Post #69 in Payson. He was basically retired, but was a Maytag repairman for many years and was an electrician by trade.
He is survived by Marge, his loving wife of 23 years; sons, Norman "Rusty" E. (Shirley) Hanscom, III of Utah; Jeffrey (Dayle) Hanscom of Washington; Brian Hanscom of Oregon; Drew (Rose) Hanscom and David Hanscom, both of California; daughter, Yvonne Feeler of Oregon; stepson, Steve Cashdollar of California; brother, Brad Hanscom of Oregon; stepmother Irene Hanscom of California; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and stepson, Gary Cashdollar.
At his request, there will be no funeral service.
