National Bank of Arizona Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John J. Gisi recently announced the opening of the bank's new Payson commercial lending office. Gisi also announced that Brent Cannon has joined National Bank as Eastern Arizona community banking president.
"We're extremely pleased to bring commercial lending services to Payson," Gisi said. "Brent's team is an experienced group of lenders who are familiar faces in Payson and bring a great deal of expertise and knowledge to the businesses in the community."
Located at 1107 S. Beeline Highway in Suite 2, the commercial lending office will serve as the temporary location for commercial lending until National Bank opens its new office in Payson next fall. The commercial lending office phone number is (928) 468-0499.
"National Bank of Arizona is recognized throughout the state for its commitment and focus on Arizona businesses," Cannon said. "National Bank has been an active business partner in Payson and continues to make a significant investment into the economic development of the community by opening a commercial lending office."
Cannon has more than 15 years of commercial banking experience and is vice chairman of the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce. He has a bachelor's of science in accounting from Humboldt State University in Arcata, Calif., and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast School of Banking at the University of Washington.
Cannon is joined at the office by Ron McLearen, commercial loan officer, Kevin Alderson, account officer and Carolyn Fruth, commercial loan processor. McLearen has spent the past two decades in the White Mountain region and has more than 20 years of credit and commercial lending experience. He is also a member of the Payson Regional Economic Development Corporation.
National Bank of Arizona opened its first office in Payson in 1996 with a small residential real estate office. In November 1999, the bank opened its current branch and real estate lending office at 254 E. Highway 260.
Julie Ruttle, vice president, oversees the bank's Payson residential real estate lending efforts and Jennifer Wagner is the branch manager for the office.
National Bank is currently in the process of identifying potential locations for a new full-service office. The new facility would open by the end of 2004 and would combine both Payson offices into one building.
