Search Warrant Nets Five Grams Meth

Payson police officers served an early morning search warrant Sunday that resulted in an arrest and the recovery of five grams of methamphetamine.

The department's Special Response Team went to a residence on South Colcord Road after receiving information that there was drug activity taking place.

"We served the search warrant shortly before 7 a.m.," Payson Police Lt. Don Engler said.

Jesus Manuel Lara-Cesena, 23, was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Engler said Lara-Cesena did not have enough meth to be charged with drug sales.

"He wasn't over the threshold amount ..." Engler said.

Lara-Cesena was booked into jail and remains in custody.
