Cronk Reports For National Guard Duty

The Gila County Sheriff's Department in Payson is going to be short a deputy for the foreseeable future.

Deputy Rod Cronk was called up with his Army National Guard Unit for duty last month.

Rod and Ike Cronk were given a send-off by the sheriff's office, fire department and others before Rod left for Texas Jan. 24.

Cronk is a sergeant with the 1404th Transportation Company. This is his third tour with his company, which is based in Show Low.

Cronk's wife, Ike, said they wanted to thank all their family, friends and the people at the sheriff's department for all their support, their prayers and good wishes.

It is not known when Cronk will be sent overseas, but for the time being, those who would like to send their thoughts and prayers to him can send mail to MRCDS, Sgt. Rod Cronk 1404th TC, Cassidy Road Building 2444, Fort Bliss, TX 79916-6816.
