A Saturday afternoon rollover between Rye and Payson led to two drug arrests.

Officer Vern Havens of the Department of Public Safety responded to the accident and called for assistance from the Payson Police Department in a subsequent drug investigation, according to Lt. Don Engler of the PPD.

There were two arrests, Engler said.

James Paul Rackley, 30, of Payson, was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs (methamphetamine), possession of dangerous drugs for sale, transporting dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rackley was also tied to a burglary of SWJ Tire at 1400 N. Beeline, Payson.

"We believe the burglary was to finance the purchase of drugs in Phoenix to sell in Payson," Engler said.

Christopher Brethauer, 29, of Chandler, also was arrested for conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs for sale and possession of dangerous drugs for sale.
