Shirley Dana Leavitt Hunsaker, 77, died Feb. 24, 2003 in Mesa. She was born to Floyd Arthur Leavitt and Zelda Maude Lofgreen on June 25, 1925 in Mayer, Ariz.
Following her father's death in 1926, Shirley moved with her mother to Mesa, where she attended Irving and Franklin schools, later graduating from Mesa High School in 1943.
After attending Brigham Young University for a year, she married Harrie E. Hunsaker on March 25, 1945.
In addition to her life's work as a wife, mother, daughter and sister, she worked 26 years for Transamerica Title as an escrow officer, branch manager and, eventually, an area manager. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Payson. She returned to Mesa after Harrie's death in 1991.
She was an active member of the Park Center Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Marc E., Kathleen D. (Robert) Sherman, Scott T. (Janet) and Patricia A. Frost; grandchildren, Sgt. Noah B. Hunsaker USMC, Magdalena Hunsaker, Sarah Dana Sherman-Clerk, Lani Packard, Caleb Hunsaker, Dana Christensen; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen Romney, Shirley Baker and Mary Joe Kartchner.

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald St. in Mesa.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1 at the Stapley Building, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1852 N. Stapley in Mesa. There will be visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
