Library Friends of Payson has cancelled its Chef Culinary Celebration scheduled for Feb. 22. Our restaurants were simply unable to support the event this year. They are still struggling after a very poor summer season, due to the fires and the lack of summer visitors. We would like to thank those restaurants who did sign on: Cedar Ridge, Cucina Paradiso, Famous Sam's, Kohl's Ranch, Kravin Kajun at the Mill, Randall House, and caterer Susan Bayer-Johnson.
We are sorry to disappoint our supporters who have enjoyed attending this popular event for the past four years. We are busy planning a completely new type of event, which we will hold at the library later this year. We think it will be even more popular than our previous fund raisers.
Gerardo Moceri of Cucina Paradiso has volunteered to raise funds for the college to build a culinary arts building. He is planning a culinary event later this winter involving students from the valley, scouts from Payson and others. The Library Friends will support him and the college with our volunteers and expertise.
