Mayor Scheduled For Two Court Appearances

Mayor Ken Murphy has two court dates scheduled this summer, according to Gila County Attorney Daisy Flores.

Murphy is scheduled to appear July 31 on domestic violence charges stemming from an incident with his fiancée, Julie Barcom, in Nov. 2001.

"His attorney has already filed for a continuance, but nothing has been decided," Flores said.

A two-day trial is to start Aug. 14 on the disorderly conduct charges filed by the county against Murphy for a confrontation he had with Fire Marshal Jack Babb last August during Rodeo weekend.

Murphy is represented by Harlan Green. Bryan Chambers will prosecute for the county. John Perlman, the judge pro tem for the Globe Regional Justice Court, will hear the Murphy cases in the Payson court house.
