The list of Gila County's most wanted is three shorted since its June 20 publication.
One man, William S. Scott, Pine, had satisfied his warrant in the Gila County courts the day before publication (June 19) of the list from the sheriff's office. The paper work did not get to the sheriff's office in time to have the name removed from the list.
Since then, two more individuals on the list, Christopher E. Schmitter, 19, and Norman "Seth" Ashby, 23, have been arrested.
The two were arrested last week. Schmitter was taken into custody by the Payson Police Department and Ashby was listed among those arrested by the Gila County Sheriff's Office in Globe.
Schmitter was arrested at about 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 2 on South Beeline, according to information from the PPD. Schmitter had two warrants: probation violation on an original charge of burglary, a class 4 felony, with no bond; and use of dangerous drugs and marijuana, a class 4 felony and $5,000 bond.
Ashby was arrested Thursday, July 3, according to information from the Globe station of the GCSO. Ashby had a warrant for probation violation for the offense of aggravated assault, a class 6 felony, and theft, a class 6 felony. There was no bond on his warrant.
In another GCSO release, Sheriff John Armer said, "Due to (the) ... article, the sheriff's office has received information about several people on the list."
