Vote yes for streets, safety, parks.
This is the resounding theme of the Capital Improvements Projects committee.
I had the distinct pleasure of serving on the CIP Committee this last spring. We were a group of 15 very different people from all walks of life, with a wide range of age groups. We were presented with nearly $40-million dollars worth of projects to discuss for bonding, and, in about nine weeks, we were able to narrow this list down to $9,112,889 in bond issue improvements to be presented to the voters at a special election set for Sept. 9.
These bond issue projects will appear on the ballot in three packages involving streets, safety and parks.
The CIP committee voted unanimously on all these projects, and I encourage everybody to take part in this ballot vote.
We cannot continue to put off these capital improvement issues any further. Please take time to inform yourselves of these important bond projects -- and please remember to vote!
As a final note, I would like to acknowledge the hard work put into the presentation of these projects to the committee from the town departments and the town personnel which made our job much easier. Thank you for all your hard work!
