Payson Unified School District officials estimate that nearly 2,800 students will start back to school Thursday, July 31.
Parents are reminded to have their child's immunization records checked to be certain they are up to date.
Payson High School
Student check-in will be from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. July 15-22. It will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 23 and 24.
July 15: All Seniors
July 16: Juniors A-K
July 17: Juniors L-Z
July 21: Sophomores A-K
July 22: Sophomores L-Z
July 23: Freshmen A-K
July 24: Freshmen L-Z
If a family has multiple students, the younger students may check in at the same time as their older siblings.
New student check-in
All new students to the district must register through the guidance center. New students along with parent/guardian can either call (928) 472-5725 or may stop into the guidance center.
New student check-in schedule 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., July 18, July 25, July 28.
There will be no check-ins or registration July 29 and July 30 due to staff meetings.
The following steps for check-in must be completed in the following order:
Step 1: Check medical records with nurse
Step 2: Verify personal information
Step 3: Pick up schedule
Step 4: Sign up in guidance center only if schedule has duplicate classes, or study hall - no credit shows in your schedule. If schedule is OK, go to Step 5.
Step 5: Check in with bookstore to receive books and make arrangements to pay fees.
Once you have checked in with the bookstore, schedule changes will not be made until Aug. 4. Schedule changes will be made before school, at lunch or after school. If not checked in with the bookstore, the student will not be on a class roster. If not on a class roster, the students will not be allowed to attend class.
Payson High School's goal is to provide an atmosphere of intellectual growth and awareness. Therefore, in selecting a curriculum, you should consider your previous successes, abilities, current interests, and plans for the future.
Rim Country Middle School
Rim Country Middle School will be holding student registration for the 2003-2004 school year from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 15-18, Evening registration will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 16.
Parents of all returning and new students need to come through registration during one of the above dates.
Parents of seventh grade students should have proof of student immunization for Hepatitis.
County health nurses will be on hand to provide immunizations.
Parents of new students should have a copy of the student birth certificate, immunizations, and proof of residency in the Payson district (utility bill or property documents).
For all new kindergartners and students transferring within Payson, registration will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day until July 25 at Frontier Elementary, Julia Randall Elementary and Payson Elementary.
The first day of school is Thursday, July 31.
