John Paul Foster, 83, of Phoenix and Strawberry, died July 15, 2003 in Sun City. He was born Dec. 4, 1919 in Indianapolis, Ind. to William Riley and Priscilla Duncan Foster.

He served as a B-24 pilot in the 8th Air Force, 389th BG in England. In Phoenix, he joined Yost and Gadner Civil Engineers for five years. He retired from AiResearch/Allied Signal in 1979.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, VaLetta; son, Tony (Cheryl) Foster, of Lakeworth, Fla.; daughter, Alice Foster Zimmerman, of Valley Springs, Calif./Glendale, Ariz; brother, Harry C. (Marie) Foster, of Savannah, Ga.; six granddaughters, 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews; and several great-grandnieces and nephews.

Celebration of his life will be at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at South Mountain Community Church, 717 E. Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Ariz 85042.
