A Tempe man jumped to his death from a bridge on Highway 87 last week.

Adam Matthew Rybezynski, born in 1974, jumped from the bridge at milepost 219. His vehicle was discovered by a Department of Public Safety patrol car out of the Fountain Hills station at about 11 a.m., Thursday, July 17.

"His wallet with his driver's license and a suicide note were in plain view on the seat of the vehicle," Lt. J.J. Tuttle of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said. The MCSO investigated the incident.

The body was discovered about 120 feet below the bridge, according to Tuttle. Additional suicide notes were found at the man's Tempe residence, Tuttle said.

The sheriff's office is awaiting a report from the medical examiner's office for the exact cause of death and whether there were drugs in the man's system at the time he died.

"We're sure the cause will be blunt trauma," he said.
