Achievement. Character. Community. These three words sum up the areas of emphasis for Rim Country Middle School in the coming school year. Building on a solid academic program, RCMS will move further into the use of data to drive instructional decisions. Our goal is to ensure that all children receive a quality education and make the academic progress that is consistent with the expectations of our patrons and mandated by law.
The Character Counts program will continue at RCMS. The school will introduce a flag ceremony at the start of the week. Students and teachers will prepare the ceremonies and parents and residents are invited to attend. Service projects also will be introduced for all students. Working under a motivational plan, students may participate in individual and team service projects.
Parents can expect to see two new tools for improving communication with the home. The School Messenger system will send voice messages to parents for attendance and other school-related announcements. EdLine will be a new web-based system that will allow parents to access student's class grade information, assignments posted online and documents for student work.
Finally, RCMS is working with the community-based School Beautification Committee to improve the overall appearance of the school. The community can expect to see a general improvement in the campus, and is invited to contact Scott Flake or Cari Day to become part of this exciting effort to make our schools as beautiful as the Rim Country we live in.
In summary, this will be a year of change and renewal for Rim Country Middle School. We will continue to offer students a strong academic program while working to develop our Maverick Community. Please visit our school and our events and become part of our community
