Think Carefully Before Recalling Fire Board

Editor:

I have been a resident of Christopher Creek since 1987 and have served on the board and was a certified EMT with the Fire Department for more than 10 years. I do know a little about how the department is run.

I served under both Dale Ashby and Ray Larson and both were great chiefs and were not run out by the board.

The present chief wants a paid department and said at a recent board meeting that he wants two paid paramedics and a salary of $60,000. This will raise the tax rate to a new all-time high.

If you want to pay these really high taxes then sign the recall petition and get rid of the current board and give the chief everything he wants. Think carefully before you recall a board that has successfully kept the tax rate stable for a number of years and still given the chief most of what he wants and everything he needs to insure the safety of all citizens.
